Washington State Enacts Recreational Marijuana Rules

The Washington State Liquor Control Board has adopted rules to implement I-502, which allows for the production, processing, and selling of marijuana pursuant to a state licensing scheme.

The new rules can be found on the State’s website: www.liq.wa.gov

The State will begin accepting applications for producer, processor and retailer licenses for 30 days, on November 18, 2013.

Information regarding the application materials can be found on the State’s Department of Revenue website http://bls.dor.wa.gov/marijuana.aspx

In addition to the State’s licensing requirements, it is important to consult the zoning rules of your local jurisdiction to determine where marijuana operations may be conducted.

For more information on the siting of these facilities and the newly enacted rules, please contact Heather Wolf.
