Ferndale to Consider Lifting Marijuana Moratorium

On October 1, 2014, the City of Ferndale will be discussing lifting its moratorium on recreational marijuana businesses. The moratorium was enacted by the City of Ferndale in March of 2014 due to concerns that the City would be inundated with recreational marijuana business applicants.

Planning Staff has recommended lifting the moratorium since an influx of new marijuana businesses is unlikely. Staff has further recommended reinstating Ferndale’s preexisting recreational marijuana regulations that allow these businesses in certain areas of the City and require the businesses to obtain a recreational marijuana business license.

The City Council Staff Report on this matter can be found here.
