On October 6, 2014, the City of Ferndale lifted its moratorium on recreational marijuana businesses. The moratorium was enacted by the City of Ferndale in March of 2014 due to concerns that the City would be inundated with recreational marijuana business applicants. Planning Staff recommended lifting the moratorium since an influx of new marijuana businesses is unlikely.
Now that the moratorium has been lifted, Ferndale’s preexisting recreational marijuana regulations, which allow these businesses in certain areas of the City and require the businesses to obtain a recreational marijuana business license, have been reinstated.
Ferndale’s recreational marijuana regulations are set forth in Chapter 18.67 of the City’s Municipal Code, which can be found here.
